I have recently updated the Shadow macro and added a new TextMan macro to my web site.
Changes to the Shadow macro allow you to select entities by selecting complete layers, and also removes the ability to create shadows as discreet entities. The new version will always create shadows as Symbols (although of course you could explode the symbol to access the discreet entities if you really needed to). This change is due to a recently detected bug that could cause incorrect shadows to be generated in some circumstances when the Symbol option was not enabled. A new macro with enhanced capabilities may be released in future.
The TextMan macro can be used to find and/or manipulate text in selected entities (the find function searches selected layer/s, text to be manipulated can be selected by layer or by the normal entity/group/area/fence options etc.). Available manipulations include replacing matching text, changing its case, or incrementing/decrementing numbers contained in text entities.
A notable capability of the macro is that it can find text contained in DataCAD's MText and PText entities. Unfortunately it is not able to actually modify text in these entities, but it does give you the option of saving them in a selection set to facilitate manual editing outside of the macro.
Note that the TextMan macro is compatible with DataCAD versions 23.00.03.01 onwards only (for earlier DataCAD versions you could try my existing Text Replace macro or the SubText macro from J.B. Cad Services that you will find towards the bottom of DataCAD's download page).
Best Regards,
David Henderson
